The Wilkes Sheriff’s Office is investigating numerous recent thefts of vehicles and other crimes.
Brenda Church Pruitt reported on May 10 that she found her gray Toyota RAV-4 missing when she walked out her residence to leave that morning. Pruitt said she usually leaves her keys in the car, which is valued at $5,000.
Kierra Cardwell of N.C. 268 West in Boomer reported on May 10 that a 65-inch TV and a Playstation 4, valued at $2,800, were stolen from her residence.
A spokesman for Skyline Marina on W. Kerr Scott Reservoir, off N.C. 268 West, reported the theft of a propane gas tank worth $200 on May 8.
The theft of electricity at a residence on Germantown Road in Moravian Falls was reported by a Duke Energy representative on May 8. The spokesman said electricity was stolen by attaching jumper cables to a power line.
George Wilmer Porter reported that a generator and trailer hitch receivers worth $875 were stolen from a residence in Dehart Church Road in McGrady.
