The Millers Creek Christian soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Sept. 22, edging Triad Baptist 4-3 in Kernersville.

Sophomore Carter Evans assisted senior Eli Joyce for the Lions’ first goal. Joyce and sophomore Carson Parrish each scored twice for Millers Creek.

Coach Jason Joyce said that freshman Caleb McClure played the whole game in goal. Joyce added that McClure and the team’s back line “kept Triad Baptist out of the goal at the end of the game to preserve the win. I’m proud of the team.”

The Lions improved to 1-3 overall and 1-3 in the Central Carolina-West Conference.
