Season finale

Wilkes County’s Kacey Triplett makes a play at shortstop during one of Post 31’s games earlier this summer.

Wilkes County's American Legion softball team was scheduled to host Alexander Post 170 on Wednesday night but won both games by forfeit due to Alexander not having enough to play.

Post 31, which improved to 12-4 overall and 8-2 in conference play, close out the regular season tonight when it travels to Watauga Post 130. First pitch for the doubleheader at Watauga High School is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The North Carolina American Legion Lady Fastpitch state tournament is scheduled to begin on Monday night.
