We would like to share our heartfelt thanks to the incredible people of Samaritan’s Purse.
Last October, we were packing to catch a flight to Panama City, Fla., to attend our 45th high school class reunion. Sadly, however, our flight was cancelled as Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle with a devastation seldom seen. This category 5 hurricane was one of the strongest in U.S. history. Schools were filled with thousands who had lost their homes; power was out for weeks with no way to prepare food while gas and water was rationed; and nearby Mexico Beach was left with only one home standing.
Since we couldn’t travel to Panama City, we decided to stop by Samaritan’s Purse in North Wilkesboro and visit. While there, we asked if they were going to go to Panama City to help the people there who were in great need. They responded, “We are already on the way.”
A few weeks later while speaking to a relative in Panama City who had lost her home due to the hurricane, we asked if she had seen Samaritan’s Purse there. The next day she sent a picture of the Samaritan’s Purse tractor trailer and mobile storage unit just two miles from her house with the American flag raised high.
Our deepest thanks to Franklin Graham and the entire Samaritan’s Purse team. Wherever the need, you will find them there. As the Christmas season approaches, please keep these incredible people on your list.
