Since completion of the roadwork on N.C. 268 East, residents can use the sidewalks. However, there are many portions of the sidewalk covered in kudzu, making it unsafe and almost impossible to use the sidewalk for biking or walking. My husband has had to go out, along with other residents, and mow the sidewalk so we can safely ride our bikes and not fear our pedals getting caught in the vines. Trash is thrown out and gets tangled in the vines, making it even more dangerous. What is the point of paying for a sidewalk if you are not going to maintain it and keep it safe?
