I recently became eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination.  I accessed the Wilkes Health Department’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic website and successfully made my appointment. At my appointment, I arrived at the River's Edge vaccination clinic site about 30 minutes early. The four lanes of incoming traffic moved efficiently and a friendly and courteous healthcare worker/volunteer confirmed my appointment. I continued on as the traffic narrowed to two or three lanes to proceed through the vaccination tents.

Another friendly and courteous healthcare worker/volunteer asked for my paperwork and asked the set of prescribed pre-vaccination questions. I arrived at the vaccination tent and yet two other friendly and courteous healthcare workers/volunteers completed my vaccination card and administered my vaccination. I proceeded through the exit lanes, taking approximately 15 minutes for the prescribed post-vaccination wait time. I exited the clinic site with final questions by yet more friendly and courteous EMS staff/volunteers. Total time start to finish, approximately 30 minutes.

I was most impressed and appreciative of the efficiency and professionalism of the entire process and staff. Our health department deserves many thanks for what has been a herculean effort at yet again providing for the health and safety of our county's citizens.

Thank you, Wilkes County Health Department and volunteers.
