William Thomas “Tom” Miller, 72, of Millers Creek died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at his home.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at Transou United Methodist Church Cemetery, Laurel Springs, with the Rev. Shannon Critcher officiating. The family received friends Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Mr. Miller was born Aug. 23, 1947, in Ashe County to Robert C. and Cynthia P. McNeill Miller. He was a member of Oakwoods Baptist Church. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, with tours of duty in Vietnam. He loved woodworking, hunting and fishing. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Munoz Miller.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Miller of Kernersville; two sons, Michael Miller and William T. Miller Jr., both of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren, Drae Miller and Deekan Miller, both of Sevierville, Tenn.; and a sister, Mary Lilley and husband, David, of Millers Creek. 

Flowers will be accepted. The family requests no food.
