William David Summerlin, 73, of Wilkesboro, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his home. Mr. Summerlin was born Jan. 2, 1948, in Wilkes County to William Lass and Julie Estella Faw Summerlin. He was a member at Lewis Fork Baptist Church. He loved classic cars, going to car shows and his dog, Sounder. Mr. Summerlin was a wonderful mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rosa Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Little Summerlin; sons, Davey Summerlin and spouse, Sabrina, of Wilkesboro, Jason Summerlin and spouse, Rebecca, of Purlear; step-sons, Chris Minton and spouse, Kristy, of Wilkesboro, Shane Minton and spouse, Teresa, of Millers Creek; grandchildren, Emily Summerlin, Julie Summerlin, Justin Summerlin and Dylan Summerlin, Austin Summerlin, Johnathan “Homer” Mitchell, Kayla Minton, Ashley Minton, Jeffrey George and spouse, Katyln, Jamie George; and sisters, Sylvia Shoun and spouse, Doyle, of Purlear, Bessie Lovette and spouse, Henry, of Moravian Falls.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Miller Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Andrews and Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
