William Bryce Welborn

William Bryce Welborn, 78, of Millers Creek, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Yellow Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Bryce was born June 21, 1944 in Wilkes County to Harmon Johnson and Loy Church Welborn. He retired from Tyson after 40 plus years of service as a supervisor of the Live Haul Division. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Welborn and Billy Welborn and wife, Carolyn Welborn; and a sister, Jewel Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Tamara Bryant of Millers Creek; a son, Richard Bryce Welborn and wife, Angela, of Millers Creek; five grandchildren, Jonathan Welborn, Joshua Welborn, Zachary Welborn, Luke Bryant, Heath Bryant and fiancee’ Amber Redding; a great grandson, Levi Bryant; two sisters, Betty Reeves of North Wilkesboro, Jeanette Bumgarner and husband, Stephen, of Wilkesboro and a brother, Wayne Welborn and wife, Imogene, of Wilkesboro.
