Travis Stone

Travis Stone, 82, of Ferguson went to his Heavenly home Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Select Rehabilitation Moses Cone in Greensboro.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Sharon Walker Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Wiles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Stone was born April 26, 1938, in Wilkes County to Paul Eugene and Clydia Mae Adams Stone. He was a member and deacon at Sharon Walker Baptist Church, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; Edward Stone, Jim Stone, Rex Stone and Jonah Lee Stone, Sr., three sisters; Mary Lois Stone, Ruth Billings and Mickie Stone.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nellie Lee Billings Stone of the home; three sons, Michael Stone and wife, Rena, of Ferguson, Anthony Stone and wife Sherri of Wilkesboro, Greg Stone and wife Angela of Boomer; one daughter, Tonya Stone Cook and husband, Chuck, of Wilkesboro; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Jo McNeil and Geraldine Sheek.
