Susan Diane Barnes transitioned on March 19, 2021, to receive her reward of eternal life in heaven. “Miss Ann,” as she was affectionately known, was born on Sept. 22, 1956, in Moravian Falls. She faithfully attended the Wilkes Adult Developmental Activity Program (ADAP) for over 40 years and was loved by everyone who had the pleasure to know her. She always had a hello and a smile to greet you and never met a stranger.
Graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Scenic Memorial Gardens with Rev. Graylin Carlton officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.
She enjoyed singing, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the Andy Griffith show, watching the Golden Girls, Twix bars, listening to music and anytime her family and friends came by to visit.
Her grandfather, Cicero Barnes; her mother, Clorine Barnes; brother, Carl Lee Barnes; and sister, Davie-Katherine Barnes, proceeded her in death.
Miss Ann leaves to remember her a brother, Thomas Barnes; sisters, Mary Barnes, Sandra Spears and Peggy Barnes; sister-in-law, Naomi Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
