Shirley Elva Ford, 84, of Statesville passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Atlantic County, N.J., to Henry and Inez Weeks Siefert.
Shirley attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Harrah’s Casino as a payroll clerk.
Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Melvin Holloway.
Surviving are her son, Brian Ford and spouse, Kim, of North Wilkesboro; a daughter, Robin Tilley and spouse, George, of Union Grove; her grandchildren, Brian Ford Jr., Briana Ford, Kayla Ford, Ben Ford, Hannah Ford and Grace Ford, all of North Wilkesboro, and Tara Coventree and spouse, Michael, of Thorofare, N.J.; great-grandson, Henry Coventree of Thorofare, New Jersey; her sisters, Carol Bubeck of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and Henrietta Hyer of Addison, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Hall and the Rev. Chris Shumate officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at Calvary Baptist Church from 2 until 3 on Sunday, prior to the service.
