Sgt. Chandler Steele Adams

Sgt. Chandler Steele Adams, 24, of Fayetteville, formerly of Wilkes County, passed away March 3, 2023, in Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Reach Center with Rev. Justin Dancy and Pastor David Dyer officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:30-2 p.m. prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will follow service with full Military Honors in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Chandler was born Dec. 30, 1998, in Mecklenburg County to Jamie Lee McIntyre. He was a 2017 graduate of West Wilkes High School and a Mason of the local chapter 573. Sgt. Adams was with Headquarters Troop, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Chester and Claire Adams.

He is survived by his mother, Jamie Lee McIntyre; sister, Lauren Adams; brother, Peyton Adams all of Jonesville; grandparents, Mike McIntyre and Diana Hill; uncles and aunts, Michael McIntyre and Wendy Vaughan, both of Texas, Monique Riik and husband, David, Gwendolyn Smith, Charlene Morton, all of Florida; nephew, Kenai McIntyre; many military brothers and sisters; and father, David Adams.
