Robert “Bob” Clegg Johnson, 89, of Moravian Falls passed away on Tuesday evening Feb. 9, 2021, at Wilkes Health and Rehab. Born Sept. 6, 1931, to the late Willie Grady and Pearl Adeline Harris Johnson in Wilkes County. Bob was a member of Cub Creek Baptist Church, enjoyed playing golf, camping, doing mission work, working in his garden, doing yard work and was a member of the Gideons International. Bob was a charter member of the Moravian Falls Volunteer Fire Department.

Those left to celebrate and cherish the memories of Mr. Johnson include three daughters, Kay Steelman (Michael), Kathy Treadway (Gary), Robin Billings (Kevin Walsh); one sister, Pauline Anderson; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with a special nephew, John Bauguess.
Mr. Johnson will lie in state at Alexander Funeral Service from 1-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cub Creek Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at Cub Creek Baptist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Rev. Sherrill Welborn will officiate, Wilkes County Firefighter Honor Guard will assist. Moravian Falls volunteer firefighters will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Moravian Falls Volunteer Fire Department at 251 W. Brocktown Rd., Moravian Falls, N.C. 28654, or to Gideons International at 279 Crestoak Dr., Wilkesboro, N.C. 28697.
