Rev. Jackie Richardson, 86, of Traphill passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. Jackie was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Wilkes County to Isaac C. Richardson and Ava Grace Richardson.
Jackie was a faithful servant as a pastor for over four decades, having the privilege to serve at Pine Fork, Oak Level, Round Hill, Flint Hill and Mount Pisgah Baptist churches. He was known in the community as the founder and co-owner of Richardson’s Storage Buildings, located in Wilkes for 40 years. He loved watching his boys play basketball and, later, watching Duke basketball was one of his greatest enjoyments.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 68 years, Eva Jean Richardson; and two brothers, J.B. Richardson and Beachie Richardson.
Jackie is survived by his children, Debbie Asbell and husband, Allan, of Kernersville, Michael Richardson and wife, Donna, of North Wilkesboro, Tina Boles and husband, Lee, of Rockwall, Texas, Tim Richardson and wife, Renee, of Hays and Jamie Richardson, of Traphill; his brother, Charles Richardson of Traphill; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date.
