Peggy Ann Barr DuVall, 81, of Landis, passed into the arms of the Lord, Friday Jan. 29, 2021, after a period of declining health. Born, June 22, 1939, in Ashe County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Eldreth Barr.
Peggy spent her working years as a Customer Service Manager at WalMart. She was an avid reader, a very good seamstress, a great gardener. Perhaps more than anything else, Peggy loved her grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her children, Marsha Reese and husband, Tommy, of Kannapolis and Duane DuVall, also of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Rebecca Hall and husband, Alex, Nicholas Reese, Matthew DuVall and wife, Gale, and Elizabeth Bridges and wife, Megan; her siblings, Helen Barr, Dean Barr and wife, Ann, Elma Jean Morrison, Bobbie Blevins, Shirley Blevins and husband, Lewis, Linda Compton and husband, John, Jack Barr and wife, Bebbie, Carol Hinckley and husband, Ron, Christie Smith and husband, Jeff, and Steve Barr and wife, Lisa.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Brown Albert DuVall Jr.; a son, Brown Albert DuVall III, and a sister, Wilma Fuhr.
Due to the COVID pandemic, a private family gathering for a graveside service to honor Peggy’s life was held. Pastor Scott Wheeler officiated.
