Pauline Porter

Pauline Porter, affectionately known as “Booed” by her siblings, 90, of Granite Falls, formerly of Roaring River, passed away Saturday April 17, 2021, at Rose Glen Manor Assisted Living. She was born in Wilkes County to William “Will” Franklin and Lessie Jane Pruitt Porter. Pauline was a devout Christian. Pauline loved cooking, gardening, mowing her lawn, tending to her flowers, attending church and tithing faithfully, all of her family, her country and God. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Rosa Lee Pierce, Opal Mae Dimmette, Arlene “WeeWee” Vickers, Sam Enoch Porter, Wanda Porter Cockrum, William “Bill” Porter, Hazel McHone.

Surviving are her sons, William Michael Price and spouse, Virginia, of Lawndale, William Dayton Price Jr. “J.R.” and spouse, Gayle, of Roaring River; daughters, Justine Price Hendricks and fiancé, Dave, of Mooresville, Perditha Price Steele and fiancé, Robert, of Raleigh; siblings, Nancy Carol Minton, Elaine Poplin, Barbara Jean Farmer, Larry Burette, “Sonny” Porter and spouse, Shirley, Marion Clayton Porter, Don Lee Porter and spouse, Sharon, Garry Dean Porter and spouse, Cathy; grandchildren, Christy, Johnna, Chasity, Lindsay, Shannon, Tara and Kristen; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held noon Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Rachel Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Porter and Rev. Brian Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends at Rachel Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted. The memories and the legacy she left behind will last a lifetime. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
