Oid Homer Hendren, 83, of Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Hendren was born Dec. 7, 1936, in Wilkes County to Clarence Wilson and Isabell Parker Hendren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from farming by raising chickens for Holly Farms/Tyson Foods. He was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and loved to share with family and friends. Mr. Hendren dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a brother.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Hartley Hendren; son, Eric Todd Hendren; step-sons, Doug Bolick and spouse, Marie, and Ken Bolick and significant other, Robin; sister, Anna Maie Hendren Call; grandchildren, Jonathan Hendren and spouse, Cassie, Christian Stephens and spouse, Eli, and Taryn Hendren; and great-grandchildren, Lilly, Masen, Easton, Jayden and Xoren.
