Norval Denny “Bob” Duncan, 91, of Moravian Falls, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at his home. Mr. Duncan was born March 7, 1929, in Wilkes County to Millard Denny and Lillie Mathis Duncan. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War, a member of Cub Creek Baptist Church and retired from Centel Telephone Company with 40 plus years of service as a lineman and repairman. Mr. Duncan was a very kind and loving man. He enjoyed gardening and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed watching the Braves play baseball, talking with his friends, building, painting and repairing towers. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bertha Fern Fletcher Duncan; daughter, Sharon Kay Duncan; and brother, L.B. Duncan.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Walker and spouse, Curtis, of Moravian Falls, and Barbara Lee and spouse, Tom, of Salisbury, Md.; his son, Robert Duncan and spouse, Lisa, of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Clay Walker and spouse, Jacquelyn, Kelley Griffin and spouse, Nathaniel, all of Moravian Falls, and Kyler Duncan and Ashley Duncan, both of Wilkesboro; and great-grandchildren, Carrigan Walker, McKinley Walker and Gabe Griffin, all of Moravian Falls.
Funeral service was held noon Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Cub Creek Baptist Church with Mr. Fred Eldreth officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at Cub Creek Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday prior to the service.
