Mary Lou Hayes, 87, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Hayes was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Ashe County to Glen George and Emma Dell Faw. She was of the Baptist faith.
She enjoyed making quilts. She loved her flowers and gardening. Mary loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Hayes; brother, Willard Faw; and sisters, Jesse Caudill and Thelma Testerman.
Surviving are her children, Patricia Rice and spouse, Richard, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Teresa Miller and spouse, Earl, of Glendale Springs, Zandra Lyalls of West Jefferson, Robin Bumgarner of North Wilkesboro, Teenya Weist and spouse, Sam, of Asheville and Sheree Miller of Asheville; and grandchildren, Christine Farrington and spouse, Wesley, of Hays, BJ Lyalls and spouse, Jessica, of West Jefferson, Brian Miller of Glendale Springs, Sheena Roten and spouse, Luke, of Creston and Jada Miller of Asheville. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Kaden Farrington and Madison Farrington, both of Hays; Loston Lyalls, Kenleigh Lyalls, Adalyn Lyalls and Trinyti Miller, all of West Jefferson; Riley Roten, Abel Roten, Sawyer Roten, all of Creston; and lifelong friend, Marie Wagoner and family.
