Mary Elizabeth Steelman Triplett, 90, of Wilkesboro passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Medical Center.
A private graveside service was held at Mountain Park Cemetery with Rev. Chris Hefner officiating. A public viewing was from noon to 5 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.
Mary was born Feb. 11, 1930 in Wilkes County to Charlie and Mary Laws Steelman. She worked as a nurse at Wilkes General Hospital and later Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arlon Triplett; a brother, Jean Steelman; three sisters, Ruth Bryan and husband, Dr. T.R. Bryan, Sarah Lowe and husband, Cody, Pat Simpson; a sister-in-law, Nancy Triplett; sister-in-law, Ann Hartley and husband, Jim.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Cathy Triplett DePriest and husband, Roger, of Johnson City, Tenn.; three sons, Steven Triplett and wife, Kathy, of Sherrills Ford; Terry Triplett and wife, Kim, of Wilkesboro; Neal Triplett and wife, Sarah, of Wilkesboro; seven grandchildren, Emily Sharpe and husband, Drew, Jacob DePriest and wife, Heather, Benjamin Triplett and wife, Kelley, Betsy Couper and husband, Daniel, Jackson Triplett, Leah Triplett, Norah Triplett; four great-grandchildren, Noah DePriest, Deacon Triplett, Elliot DePriest, Samuel Sharpe; a sister, Martha England and husband, James, of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Janey Lackey, and husband, Jerry, of Millers Creek; and two brothers-in-law, Ray Triplett of Wilkesboro and Dr. Dean Simpson of Statesville.
