Mabel Teague Johnson

Mabel Teague Johnson, 91, of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at her home.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Robert Duncan officiating.

Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 19, 1929 in Darlington, Md., to Cager Richard and Dorothy Olivia Brown Teague. Mabel was a lifelong active member of Oakwoods Baptist Church, she loved singing in the church choir, cooking for her family and enjoyed working in her flower beds. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thomas Johnson; a daughter, Shirley Johnson Pilkenton; a sister, Elenor Seig; and a brother, Donald Teague.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Johnson Hunt and husband, Charlie Ray of Darlington, Md., Cindy Lynn Snotherly and husband, Jeff, of Wilkesboro; three sons, Thomas Fred Johnson and wife, Patsy, of Wilkesboro, Danny Lee Johnson and wife, Deana, of Wilkesboro, Lewis Ray Johnson and wife, Margaret, of North Wilkesboro; 11 grandchildren, Diana Lynn Kolego, Douglas Ray Hunt, Jason Thomas Johnson, Bryan Russell Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Natalie Johnson, Melanie Thomas, James Johnson, Madison Snotherly and Tyler Snotherly; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Kolego, Sebastian Thomas, Valek Thomas, Arianna Johnson; three sisters, Esther Duffer of North Wilkesboro, Dora Isom of Abingdon, Md., Inez Borgman of Baltimore, Md.; and a brother, Cager Richard Teague Jr. of Montclair, Calif.
