Lola Shew Anderson, 89, of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Private graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Jason Whitley officiating, and hymns by the southern gospel group, Deliverance.
Mrs. Anderson was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Wilkes County to James Calvin and Annie Burchette Shew. She was a member of Middle Cross Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Millard “Dwight” Delidle Anderson; three sisters, Evelyn Wagoner, Mabel Roberts and Ruby Roberts; and four brothers, Claude Shew, Willard Shew, James Shew and Clarence Shew.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Anderson Queen and husband, Dolan, of North Wilkesboro; a son, Kenny Lee Anderson and wife, Joan, of North Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Greg Anderson and wife, Vicky, Kenneth Anderson and wife, Nicole, Shauna Harrison and husband, Rob, and Chad Queen and wife, Tara; 10 great-grandchildren, Quinton Anderson, Lane Anderson, Graham Harrison, Carter Harrison, Bennet Harrison, Miles Queen, Marshall Queen, Kayla Wike and husband, Aaron, Hannah Parks and Lee Parks; two great-great-grandchildren, Zander Wike and Levi Wike; two sisters, Patricia Jones of Elkin and Nellie Sturgill and husband, Larry, of Statesville; a special friend, George Felts of Elkin; and her “baby,” Koby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1942.
