Kenny Dwayne Johnson, 57, of Hays, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1962, in Wilkes County to Archie Kenneth and Shelby Harris Johnson. Kenny attended Eastside Baptist Church and self-employed as a tile mechanic. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Kristen Marie Johnson.
He is survived by his sons, Kenny “Leroy” Johnson of Roaring River, Kyle Donovan Johnson of Millers Creek; his daughters, Kendra Dawn Johnson of Mulberry, Kayla Dawn Johnson of Ferguson; his mother, Shelby Harris Johnson of North Wilkesboro; brother, Charles “Mousey” Johnson and spouse, Kimberly, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and sisters, Teresa J. Ashlin and spouse, Rick, of Oceanside, Calif., Tammy J. Wyatt and spouse, David “Buckwheat,” of Roaring River; grandchild, Aubree Carter of Ronda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at Miller Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Stewart Roten officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 1-2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
