Johnny Steve 'Butch' Baugess

Johnny Steve “Butch” Baugess, 79, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at his home. He was born June 19, 1943 in Wilkes County to Bonson Oliver and Stella Rhodes Baugess. Mr. Baugess was a US Navy Veteran, serving in Vietnam, a member of the VFW, the North Wilkesboro Auxiliary Police; and of the Baptist Faith. Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His family is what gave him the most enjoyment. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Joan E. Baugess Andrews.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Patricia Baugess; brother, Mike Baugess and spouse Peggy of Millers Creek; daughter, Paula S. Monday of Fairplains, son, Bruce A. Baugess and spouse Libby of Wilkesboro, daughter, Sandy L. Clements and spouse John of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Charity Andrews, John Andrews and spouse Katrina, Brittany Richardson and spouse Timmy, Breanna Baugess, Meaghan Hayes and Haley Ferrell; five step-grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; nieces and nephews, Lloyd Shipley, Cheryl Allen and spouse Rodney, Lisa Crump and spouse Russell all of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Angie Church and spouse Steven of Millers Creek.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Glenn Dancy III officiating. Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard Post 1142 will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
