JoAnne had a steadfast belief in God and no matter what befell her, she had faith that it was part of God’s plan for her.
She loved her husband of 38 years, James A. Elledge, very much and in prior years spent April through September camping and fishing on their pontoon boat. Her son, Roger and his wife took her many times to Chesapeake, Va., to fish and opened their house to her many times over three years when she needed treatment at Duke.
Her youngest son, Russell, from Boomer was always there to support his mother and James in whatever they needed and sat with her on Sunday mornings while she was home in hospice, so James could go to church.
Surviving are her loving husband, James A. Elledge of North Wilkesboro; a sister, Nancy Chinen of Honolulu, Hawaii; three sons, Roger Sizemore and spouse, Linda, of Durham, Russell Sizemore and his fiancée, Shannon Morrison, of Boomer and Bob Sizemore and spouse, Debi, of Greenville, S.C.; her stepson, Charlie Elledge; and her grandchildren, Willie Sizemore, Logan Miller, Kristen Elledge, Jasmine Anderson and Niki Pouncie.
The family has requested no service.
