Jimmie Dean Moretz, 56, of Millers Creek passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at his home.
Graveside services were held at noon on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Mountlawn Memorial Park, with Pastor Derek Kilby officiating.
Mr. Moretz was born Feb. 29, 1964, in Wilkes County to James Odean and Margie Auton Moretz. He was a long-distance truck driver for several different local companies. He was self-employed, doing small engine repair, and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement. Mr. Moretz was known for his love of the holidays by his elaborate Christmas and Halloween displays for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Witherspoon Moretz of the home; one son, James Dean Moretz of Millers Creek; one grandson, Braxton Leonard of Millers Creek; one daughter, Cynthia Nicole Leonard; two sisters, Penny Wilmot and husband, Don of Jacksonville, Fla., and Regina Elledge of Lexington; and one brother, Mark Lyle Moretz and wife, Cindy, of Purlear.
