Jeral Lee Sebastian

Jeral Lee Sebastian, 75, of McGrady, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at his home.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Sebastian was born Feb. 22, 1945, in Wilkes County to Dwight Absher and Annie Ruth Owens Sebastian. He was a member of Pine View Baptist Church.

Jeral began his career at Wilkes Welding and Machine Company at the young age of 14 helping his father after school and on Saturdays. He continued with his career at Wilkes Welding for 54 years. His knowledge and skill in the machine shop industry was known throughout Wilkes and surrounding counties. He was also known for his knowledge of old Chevrolets, particularly ‘55 Chevrolets, and Winchester guns. He also enjoyed working on his farm and taking care of his cattle. His farm truck was easily recognizable by the spare tire mounted on the roof. He was one of a kind and will certainly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Combs Sebastian of the home, a daughter; Myra McGlamery and husband, Phillip, of Purlear; stepson, Ty Worley and wife, Karen, of McGrady; granddaughter, Madison McGlamery; step-grandson, T.J. Worley; and Jeral’s longtime friend and buddy, Jim Beamon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mulberry Boy Scout Troop 343, c/o Brandon Winters, 296 Country Walk Drive, North Wilkesboro, N.C., 28659.
