James Roger Absher, 77, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, at Cranberry Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Victor Church officiating.
Mr. Absher was born Dec. 21, 1942, in Ashe County to Walter E. and Ada H. Perry Absher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Mitchell Absher; a granddaughter, Christina Renee Royal; a sister, Shirley Glass; and two brothers, Billy R. Perry Sr. and Connie D. Perry.
He is survived by five daughters, Rebecca Royal (Jessie) of Ronda, Tiffany Testerman (Teddie) of North Wilkesboro, Barbara Dishman (Jeff) of Jefferson, Jamie Lambe (Larry) of Jefferson, and Breezy McKeithan (Bill) of Asheboro; eight grandchildren, Jessie James Royal Jr., Dameon Testerman, Tyson Testerman, Ash Lambe, Hunter Lambe, JD Wingler, Brandon Dishman and Danielle Wingler; seven great-children, Hayden Royal, Noah Royal, Cayden Maira, Connor Stoltz, Colton Stoltz, Layla Dishman, and Ian Wingler; a brother, Bobby Perry of North Wilkesboro; a special uncle, Bud Perry. and wife, Betty, of Millers Creek.
