Jacqueline James Combs, 94, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the Fountains at the Albemarle in Tarboro. She was born June 30, 1926, in Greensboro to Harry and Gladys.
She spent her early years in Greensboro, later settling in Elkin with her husband, Guy Combs. Together, they owned and operated Combs Seafood for 43 years. Jackie was an incredible seamstress and basket weaver, and enjoyed needlepoint. She also loved her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy.
She is survived by her brother, Donald James of Greenville; her sons, Randy (Linda) Combs of Harrisonburg, Va., and Alec Combs of Greenville; four grandchildren, Nicklaus (Hannah) Combs of Boulder, Colo., Adam (Casey) Combs of Winston-Salem, Anne Hayley Combs of Raleigh and Emma Combs of Greenville, and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Hollywood Cemetery.
