Ina June Call Riddle, 85, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at Westwood Hills Nursing & Rehab Center of Wilkesboro. June was born June 3, 1937, in Wilkes County to Corben Bland and Ina Glendora Brooks Call. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in in death by her husband, Arthur Don Riddle.
Upon graduation from Wilkes Central High School, June was the first to be chosen in the new X- ray scholarship program through Wilkes General Hospital. She became the first registered X-ray technician from this program and went on to help teach others in X-ray training.
June was well versed in Bible knowledge and an avid Bible scholar. She was a faithful member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church, where she shared her quest for knowledge and zeal to service her church family by teaching and guidance of the faith of Christianity as a Sunday School teacher and in many other programs of the church, including singing in the choir.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in in death by sisters, Margie Lee Roten, Geneva Souther; brothers, CB Call, Bill Call, Bob Call and an infant brother, Jakey Dave Call.
She is survived by her siblings, Bonnie Canter and husband, James, of Hiddenite, Nancy Martin and husband, William, of Smithfield, Va., Mary Jane Hysinger of Mt. Vernon, Ky., Rebecca Baldwin of North Wilkesboro, Sarah Anglin of Nokomis Beach, Fla., Isaac Call and wife, Kathy, of Hiddenite, Lako Call and wife, Betty, of North Wilkesboro, and Lt. Col Joseph Call and wife, Reba, of Leesville, La.; sister-in-law, Lavonne Call of Wilkesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
June was a very special person and loved by all. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Fishing Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Call and Rev. Alex Canter officiating. Interment will follow in Fishing Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
