Hazel Davis Walters, 87, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at Ocean View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in the Brushy Mountains to Mitchell and Carrie Canter Davis, Hazel went to Florida in 1958 from Winston-Salem.
A former advertising sales associate, Hazel loved gardening and traveling. She enjoyed people and being around them. Hazel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Bob; a son, Barry (Sharon) Eller, of Merritt Island, Fla.; a daughter, Judith Yvonne (David Gregory) Jaeb, of Lake Mary, Fla.; a grandson, David G. (Jennifer) Jaeb II of Sanford, Fla.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn (Timothy) Coll of Deltona, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Kendyl, Parker, Shane and Delaney.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Eric; several brothers and sisters; and her first husband, John Bruce Eller, who died 10 years ago.
Celebration of life services will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at Settle-Wilder Chapel, with Chaplain Mark Spivey officiating. Friends will be received Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
