Gloria Louise Miller Eversole of Miami, Fla., passed away in her home on Monday, June 25, 2019, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Eversole for 60 years.
Gloria, born in Deep Gap on Jan. 10, 1928, resided part time in both Coconut Grove, Fla., and at her childhood home In Purlear for nearly 70 years. She valued nature’s many gifts and never took life’s beauty for granted. Her heartfelt paintings, collection of orchids, timeless interior design, southern cooking, unforgettable storytelling and infinite wisdom were appreciated by all.
She rescued countless animals and was selflessly devoted to many dogs and cats throughout her life. Above all, she cherished her time with family and her many dear friends. In the last month of her life, Gloria was visited by family and friends of all generations, from near and far, a true testament to her extraordinary presence and abundant affection.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, L.A. Claire Annette Franck and two sons, Gary and Greg. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her devoted dog, Buddy.
In addition to her husband, Eddie, and her parents Clint and Leota Miller, Gloria was predeceased by her brother, James Miller; her sister, Lillian Sowers; her son, Glenn Eversole; and her son-in-law, Douglas Holbrook.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, allowing for planning and travel. Both are by invitation.
