Frances Johnson Combs Queen, 89, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Wilkes Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Hunting Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Younce officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Frances was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Wilkes County to Percy and Eva Pendergrass Johnson. She was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Edward Combs, and her second husband, Roy Queen; a daughter-in-law, Rosalva Combs; three sisters; and five brothers.
She is survived by three sons, Ovadean Combs and wife, Sandra, Tony Combs, Benny Combs and wife, Louise, all of North Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Tracy Baker and husband, Robert, of Boone, Donna Adams and husband, Mark, of North Wilkesboro, Tina Moore and husband, Billy, of Mt. Airy, Ericka Combs and Steven Bell of North Wilkesboro; 13 great-grandchildren, Amber Hudson, Ashlynn Landrum, Madilyn Bell, Hayden Bell, Kellan Baker, Ryan Baker, Andrew Baker, Chloe Baker, Amber Hudson, Dylan Adams, Evan Adams, Ethan Adams and Morgan Adams; two great-great-grandchildren, River Adams and Kaeton Adams.
