Dr. Pradip C. Thakkar, 61, of Mooresville passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on June 15, 1959, in Nadiad, India, and was the youngest of nine siblings. Dr. Thakkar, after graduating from high school, attended B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India.
After moving to Wilkes County, Dr. Thakkar opened a Family Medical Practice in 1995. In addition to his private practice of 25 years, he served for many years as the Medical Director for Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab, Avante Nursing of Wilkes and as a hospitalist for Wilkes Regional/Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center of Wilkes. He was currently the Medical Director of Pruitt Hospice, and the former director of Medi Home Hospice, both serving Wilkes and surrounding counties.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his beloved wife of 31 years, Jagruti Thakkar DDS, and their three children, Nandan, Shriya and Anuj, all of the home. Along with their immediate family, he will also be deeply missed by his colleagues, office staff and numerous patients and friends.
