Dolphus "Doc" Jordan, 78, of North Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Wilkes Health and Rehabilitation Center. Dolphus was born Feb. 12, 1942, in Nash County to J.D. and Lessie Mae Lamb Jordan.
Dolphus loved to fish on the coast and was a carpenter who built homes for 21 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Cummings Jordan; and a son, Ray Jordan.
Surviving are his sons, Philip Jordan and spouse, Sonya, and Roy Jordan and spouse, Susan, all of North Wilkesboro; a daughter, Belinda Gail Brewer and spouse, Billy, of North Wilkesboro; his sisters, Shirley Williams and Janice Glover, both of Elm City, and Carol Ogeary of Greenville; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, July 31, 2020, at Miller Funeral Chapel, with Dr. James Joseph officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 11 a.m. until noon Friday, prior to the service.
