Darryl Maynard Moore, 81, of Wilkesboro, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Health — Wilkes Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hunting Creek Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Poole and Rev. Dennis Love officiating. A public viewing was held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Moore was born May 30, 1939, in Wilkes County to Vestal Archie and Ruby Prevette Moore. He was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Moore was a member of the Broadway Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years and was a former board member.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Love Moore; a stepson, Terry Love; and one sister, Helen Mallard.
He is survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Shirley Moore; one daughter, Hope Calloway of Winston-Salem; one step-daughter, Pam Dancy and husband, John, of Wilkesboro; three sons, Jeff Moore and wife, Donna, of Millers Creek; Mike Moore and wife, Jane, of Wilkesboro and Steve Moore of Yadkinville; two stepsons, Rev. Dennis Love and wife, Vicki, of Marion, and Ray Love Jr. and wife, Shannon, of Summerville, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Moore of Fleetwood and Archie “Eddie” Moore and wife, Ann, of Elkin.
