Danny Hunter Ferguson, 85, of Millers Creek passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at Universal Health Care of King. He was born July 1, 1934, in Giles County, Va., to Oather Harding and Thelma Calloway Ferguson.
Danny was a member of Cricket Baptist Church and retired as a truck driver with Gardner Mirror after 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bud Ferguson; and three sisters, Aliene Clemmons, Jean Williams and Peggy Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Testerman Ferguson; his daughters, Pamela Ferguson Thompson and spouse, Brent, of Hudson, Lisa Diana Carson Ollis and spouse, Marty, of Bristol and Dana Ferguson Edwards and spouse, Kenneth, of King; his stepdaughters, Tammy Wolfe and spouse, Jason, of Mount Pleasant, and Janet Carroll and Melissa Royal and spouse, Scotty, all of North Wilkesboro; a sister, Nancy Boyles of Rocky Mount; 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Miller Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Farmer officiating. Burial followed in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family received friends at Miller Funeral Service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service.
