Christopher Glenn Blankenship, 48, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Sept. 18, 1972, in Wilkes County to Ronald “Ronnie” Glenn and Mary “Susie” Bumgarner Blankenship. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and employed with Lowe’s Companies in shipping. Chris was preceded in death by his father. Chris was a devoted husband and a man who loved his family beyond measure. He was a comic book aficionado and could spend many hours in conversation discussing story lines and the differences between print and media. He was an all-around fun-loving guy that could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 22 years, Jennifer Blankenship; his mother, Mary “Susie” Blankenship of North Wilkesboro; brother, Matthew Blankenship and spouse, Torri, of Thomasville; nieces, Chloe and Luna; nephew, Jeremy, and his three pug babies, Beasley, Gatsby and Darci.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Kent Wood and Rev. Reggie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Mt. Zion Baptist Church from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, P.O.
