Cedric Dean Parson

Cedric Dean Parson, of North Wilkesboro departed this world on April 10, 2021. He was born May 7, 1959, in Surry County to Dollie King Parson and G.P. Parson. He was a man of few words but managed to become unforgettable to those he allowed into his life. Cedric enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns and rooting for the Duke Blue Devils regardless of where they ranked each year. He was a star athlete at Starmount High School in track and basketball. He also played basketball at Surry Community College in Dobson. He was preceded in death by his father G.P. Parson; grandparents, Arthur and Cleo King.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Rosetta “Liz” Parson of the home; children, Shaun “Boogie” Adams and spouse, Tashena Adams, of Jonesville; Shana “Notty Head” Parson of North Wilkesboro; Tonya “Tonnie” Bailey of Durham; sisters, Evangeline “Sister” Thompson and Karen Parson Stevenson and spouse, Marcus Stevenson, all of Charleston, S.C., and Louise Frost of Cooleemee; brothers, Elliott “Lynn” Parson of State Road, Tyra Parson of Dallas, Ga.; a special blood brother, Billy Ray Martin of Elkin; grandchildren, Mia’son, Cherish, Victorian, Bronson, Kalei, Blaise, Isaiah, Odonis, Abel, Samara “Turtle,” Shayda “Squirmy;” great-grandson, Azariah, and numerous family members and friends who all loved him dearly.

He will be missed but never forgotten.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alvin Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
