Bill Warner Rhoades, 81, of North Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1938, in Wilkes County to Estel and Maie Barlow Rhoades.
Mr. Rhoades was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Hilltop Baptist Church. He enjoyed lawn mower, go-cart and drag racing.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bradley, Jim and Don Rhoades.
He is survived by his wife, Willa Hayes Rhoades; a daughter, Elizabeth Rhoades Griffin and spouse, William, of North Wilkesboro; a son, Gwyn Rhoades and spouse, Donna, of North Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Cody Griffin and spouse, Jessica, of Hays and Casey Reavis and spouse, Daniel, of Millers Creek; his great-grandchildren, Bailee Griffin, Christian Osborne, Carson Griffin, Sawyer Griffin and Emma Reavis; a sister, Marie Mann of North Wilkesboro; and a brother, Joe Rhoades and spouse, Jean, of North Wilkesboro.
Graveside services, with military honors provided by the honor guard from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142, will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Mountlawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ronnie Gregory and the Rev. Rodney Blake officiating.
