Betty Owens Rash, 77, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. She was born in Wilkes County on Jan. 2, 1942, to James Monroe Owens and Lucena Elledge Owens.
Mrs. Rash worked many years for the former Southern Bell Telephone Company and later she worked for Caldwell County Home Health. She was an active member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Her love of her family and God were the most important parts of her life, evident in her devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Rash.
Mrs. Rash is survived by her sons, Arlen Rash Jr., Bryant Rash and Wayne Rash; her grandchildren, Alex, Colby, Zack, Caleb and Caroline; her brothers, Richard Owens and Donald Owens and wife, JoAnn; a sister, Libby Ellis and husband, Jerry; and numerous other relatives.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, from 5 until 6:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Mountlawn Memorial Park in North Wilkesboro on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at 3 p.m., with Pastor Sam Craven and Pastor Don Ingle officiating.
