Betty Jane Wood Watts, 86, of North Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021, at Round Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Jennings officiating. The casket will lie-in-state from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. There will be a public viewing from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Watts was born Sept, 6, 1934, in Wilkes County to Onley and Annie Taylor Wood. She was a born again Christian of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Smith Watts Jr; a son: Tommy Watts; a great-grandson, Timothy Bowers; and a great-granddaughter, Leah Rose Caudle.
She is survived by two daughters; Kathy Wingler and husband, Doug, of North Wilkesboro; Rose Staley and husband, Dennis, of Roaring River; six grandchildren, Adam Bowers, Rebekah Caudle, Rosanna Teal, Amy Bowers, Zane Staley and Katrina Barker; seven great-grandchildren, Brooke Brown, Gracie Bowers, Dylan Hogue, Ayden Bowers, Tate Bowers, Aaron Caudle, Maggie Teal; a great-great grandson, River Brown, a daughter-in-law; Paula Watts of Elkin, a brother-in-law; Howard Watts of Bull Head City, AZ.
