Benny Rex Billings

Benny Rex Billings, 76, of Traphill passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Woltz Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held noon Monday, March 13, 2023, at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Blevins and Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service at the church.

Benny was born Jan. 30, 1947, in Surry County to Dewey and Myrtle Pruitt Billings. He retired as a well driller after many years from Newman Brothers Well Drilling. Benny served as a deacon for 49 years at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. He loved his family and working on his cattle farm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carol Cheek Billings; two sisters, Arkie Crabb, Dorothy Holcomb; three brothers, Hurley Billings, Elmer Billings and Everette “Buck” Billings.

He is survived by a son, Benjamin Billings and wife, Kayla, of Traphill; two grandchildren, Shaylen Billings, Brayden Billings; two sisters, Rheo McBride of Winston-Salem and Ella Byrd of Lexington.
