Power pole snapped in half

WRECK ON GERMANTOWN ROAD left a power pole snapped in half Wednesday morning.

A Duke Energy power pole was left snapped in half after a wreck occurred Wednesday morning on Germantown Road in Moravian Falls.

According to emergency personnel at the scene, a Ford F-350 pickup ran off Germantown Road in a curve while eastbound and struck the pole, causing it to snap several feet above the actual point of impact. The incident, which occurred about 8 a.m. didn't result in any injuries or a large power outage.

The Moravian Falls Fire Department responded and provided traffic control. A Duke Energy crew replaced the pole.
