The Town of Wilkesboro recently announced the 2021 lineups of “Movies on Main” and “Concerts in the Commons.”

The movies will be shown starting at 9 p.m. on a 33-foot-wide screen on the concert lawn May through August in the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons.

This season features recent releases and ’90s classics selected by the community through a social media poll. Admission to the movies are free. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for lawn seating.

The movie schedule is:

• Friday, May 7: Onward (2020);

• Friday, June 11: The Lion King (1994);

• Friday, July 9: Toy Story 4 (2019); and

• Friday, Aug. 13: Aladdin (1992)

On May 7, Disney short films will begin prior to the movie at 8:45 p.m.

The concerts will be held on second Saturdays from 6-10 p.m. on the Wilkes Communications Pavilion. Admission to the concerts and the Carolina West Wireless Heritage Square splash pad is free.

The concert schedule is:

• May 8, 5-10 p.m.: 5 p.m.: The Adam Booker Trio; 6:05 p.m.: The Trailblazers; 7:25 p.m.: The Eli Yacinthe Band; 8:40 p.m.: Songs from the Road Band;

• June 12: 6 p.m.: Will Easter; 7 p.m.: Tin Can Alley; 8 p.m.: Aztec Sun;

• July 10: 6 p.m.: Ashley Heath & Her Heathens; 8 p.m.: Rumours — A Fleetwood Mac Tribute;

• Aug. 14: 6 p.m.: Arts Fishing Club; 8 p.m.: Creedence Revived — CCR Tribute Band; and

• Oct. 9: 6 p.m.: DownTown Abby & the Echoes; 7 p.m.: Face 2 Face — Billy Joel & Elton John Tribute.
