United Way of Wilkes has free cloth face masks available for the public, announced Wilkes United Way Director Clara Hickman.

Hickman said the masks are made of an anti-microbial T-shirt-type material that can be re-washed up to 15 times. They come in packs of five, with a limit of one pack per person, she added.

The masks can be picked up at the Wilkes United Way office at at 910 C Street, North Wilkesboro. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

First, you have to convince those individuals who refuse to wear a mask in public to not be a big part of the problem and to be a big part of the cure! I just cannot understand why they don't get the idea of being safe is a good idea. Maybe they all like to gamble with their life and their families lives. Makes no sense to me.
