The Wilkes County Schools’ Summer Meal Service, with breakfast and lunch available to all local youths ages 1-18 regardless of income eligibility, is continuing July 1-31.

Wilkes County Schools cafeteria personnel are preparing meals at East Wilkes High School, Central Wilkes and West Wilkes middle schools and Mulberry and Traphill elementary schools for the program.

Wilkes school buses are being used to take food prepared at those locations to community stops. Sites won’t operate on July 3, but meals for that day can be picked up on July 2.

Serving times for food prepared at Central Wilkes Middle School are:

• Central Wilkes Middle School on N.C. 16 South, 11:30 a.m.;

• C.C. Wright Elementary School on N.C. 115, 11:15 a.m.;

• Peace Street, North Wilkesboro, noon;

• Cub Creek Apartments, 11:45 a.m.;

• Windemere Apartments, 12:30 p.m.

Serving times for food prepared at Mulberry Elementary School are:

• Mulberry Elementary, 11:30 a.m.;

• JustSave store on N.C. 18 North, 11:15 a.m.;

• North Wilkesboro Housing at J Street, 12:15 p.m.;

• Rock Creek IGA on N.C. 268 East, 11:30 a.m.

Serving times for food prepared at East Wilkes High School are:

• East Wilkes High School, 11:30 a.m.

• Thurmond Grocery on U.S. 21, 11:30 a.m.;

The serving times for food prepared at Traphill Elementary School are:

• Traphill Elementary, 11:30 a.m.

• Austin Community Ball Park, 11:30 a.m.

Serving times for food prepared at West Wilkes Middle School are:

• West Wilkes Middle School, 11:30 a.m.;

• Allendale mobile home park near Welcome Home Baptist Church, 11:30 a.m.;

• Millers Creek Elementary on N.C. 16 North, noon;

• Mount Pleasant Elementary School on Champion-Mount Pleasant Road at 11:30 a.m.
