The 13th Annual Wilkes County High School Band Exposition is Saturday at the West Wilkes High School football stadium at 6598 Boone Trail, off N.C. 16, in Millers Creek.
The expo starts at 11 a.m., but “air grams” and concessions will be available starting at 10 a.m. Admission is $5 and includes a program featuring each band program.
The four Wilkes high school bands will present their marching shows for this year. The event is held to celebrate and show off the four band programs; it’s not a competition.
At the conclusion, all of the bands will combine for a rendition of “God Bless America” to honor men and women from Wilkes County in the armed forces.
The four traditional high schools take turns hosting the expo each year.
