Kruger Brothers crowd

A large crowd on June 27 listens to the Kruger Brothers concert in Wilkesboro. Attendees at the band's Sunday shows have traveled from as far away as New York, Pennsylvania and Alabama.

The Kruger Brothers will conclude their free concert series at the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons in Wilkesboro the next two Sundays, July 4 and July 11, from 5-7 p.m.

Originally from Europe, the Kruger Brothers made their American debut in 1997 at MerleFest. The band moved to the United States and made Wilkes County their home in 2003. Their own compositions incorporate elements of American and European folk music, molding it into a unique style. The Kruger Brothers have performed at countless music festivals and performing arts venues throughout the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe.

On July 4 and July 11 there will be yard games, food trucks and town-provided seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees may also bring their own chairs and blankets. Admission is free and the show starts at 5 p.m. each evening.
